Well, i'm not saying that i think the 318 is faster, but i was mainly getting at whether the 4banger can be hopped up more than the 6 cylinder. I'm coming from a honda-ish background and i know as far as those cars go the 4bangers have a bigger following, that's all. thanks for all the responses, as i said, i'm just getting into this --Dan

I owned a civic before it crashed and paid for my current bimmer. The reason 4 bangers have a bigger following, when it comes to honda, is that 90% or so of hondas come with a 4 banger. The accord coupe comes with a V6 mated to an auto transmission and maybe the prelude has a V6, but thats it.

The E30 of choice is definately the 325i/is (well maybe the M3 but its too costly to maintain!). Although some people prefer the 318 because it is cheaper on gas. It is also lighter and thus handles slightly better.

Maybe its just me, but I don't see the point of trying to modify the 4 banger to match the 6 cylinder. All that mod money should go into buying a 325i in the first place.

Just my opinion,

Omer.
86 325e.
