m3 springs with what shocks? (archive)

I just bought a 88 325ic that had been hit in the pass. side hard enough to bend the shock and tierod.
Saw a set of m3 springs on ebay and bidded on the and just won the bid, but its for the springs only. My question is if i should purchace bilsteins sport shocks, or will the spring be to tall for that shock since it was designed for lowering springs
