I just got an '87 325ic with a manual top. I got a deal on it at an auction. The only thing is, i can't get the top down. It seems to go back okay, but I can't get the boot lid open. Is there some trick I'm missing here? (I dont have a manual).

I am guessing that you pulled the door handle behind the drivers seat on the 1/4 panel, right? You may have to pull on the lid a bit wilst pulling the handle. If that still wont release. you need to remove the left 1/4 panel and pull on the release cable. There is also a safety release under the left most front of the boot just under the lip. Hope this helps
