Theres a small tab hook that you have to hold while opening it. Its on the driver side.

I just got an '87 325ic with a manual top. I got a deal on it at an auction. The only thing is, i can't get the top down. It seems to go back okay, but I can't get the boot lid open. Is there some trick I'm missing here? (I dont have a manual).
