I am pretty sure my brake linings are way past the minimum thickness (the sensor is broken and has been on since I have had the car.) Well now I am doing something about it, but I
want to spend as little as possible. Is Midas (or some other generic service chain) suitable for the replacement of m7 87 325 (4 wheel disc) brakes or should I go elswhere? Jack
Well since you don't want to spend to much money. Get a estimate from Midas (it should be free). Then shop around and find the cheapest prices for the parts you need and get them installed by a smaller shop or do it yourself.
This is not a good option though, only cheap. There are some really bad brake pads out there, that you wait to stop squealing but they never do. Same thing for rotors.
I've found Midas to be a little on the expensive side (well! atleast for my old civic). But they do a decent (not great) job.
Hope this helps,
Omer.
