John - I used a brass and a lead hammer and a stainless steel machined tube and two other drifts and it took two hours of straight hammering to knock the one bearing out - you can get some stubby cylinders and a threaded rod and nuts - but I think after a total of four hours to do one bearing that I'd buy the tool for just the other side alone - not to mention having to "hammer" it back in - uh easy to damage the inner races you know - tool presses it back in also! And my business used to be interference assembly/disassembly. Consider it the cost of labor. No other puller/pushers on the market will do- gotta make shift one - if you know all the dimensions. Is there another way to pull the bearings without buying the tool that Bav/Auto catalog shows? Also what is the best way to remove the bushings in the trailing arms?I had to recently buy another trailing arm with the drive axle, the bearing dont sound to good want to replace it before I have to replace another trail arm.TIA john
Can someone give me the link to the tech areas, ryan if you read this one you gave me the right one not to long ago but I lost it when aol .04 quit Tia again
