Hello guys my BF wants to lower my 325is but he wants to have struts ready to go on all at once. So we figured we buy two front struts at the wrecking yard and install the new springs (H&R) and struts Bilstein? so its a slam bam job. The 88 struts on my car ive been told are 45mm? whats that mean? and the 325e struts are not. I have bought the springs just not the Bilsteins yet. Are the 45mm on my car better? will the 325e struts fit? He plans to change the wheel bearings also at the same time.

Actually the struts on your 88 325is are 51mm, the
45mm struts were on many 325 and 325e cars. You
really should get the larger struts just like
your car already has, or just put the new springs
and shocks on your existing struts.
