Passenger seat adjustment problem (archive)

While the driver's seat (sports type) on my 1988 325is will tilt forward, and stay there, for access to the back seats, the passenger seat will tilt forward, but will not stay in that position. Is this normal? or have I perhaps adjusted the passenger seat in such a way that it will not tilt and stay? Steverino4
