first of all before changing your alternator you should check the voltage at the battery with a voltmeter with car running at idle. Now check it at 2,000 rpm's with all accessories on[lights blower fan wipers etc.] what voltages are you getting? Shouldnt be less than 13.0 volts. The next step if the voltage is too low would be to check the voltage regulator brushes with the regulator removed for wear. If this is ok maybe you have a bad ground. more questions?
