Hi,
my engine is making clicking noises from about 2000 rpm and upwards. since the noise is related to rpm and not throttle opening I concluded that the noise is from the valves, not the injectors. I attempted to adjust the valave clearnces according to the Bently manual - twice. I couldn't get rid of the noise. It seems to me that the noise isn't present when the engine is cold right after starting. Should I adjust the valves again with less clearnce then 0.010 ? Could somthing else in the valvetrain be causing the noise ?
Any other ideas ?

Thanks,
Avner.

hey it's funny you say that....i had the same exact problem with mine a few weeks ago. it's since blown up. what had happened was i spun a bearing....though there was no rod knock....odd? what was happening was that there is such a tight clearance between the piston and the head that the piston was accually smacking the head and causing a noise similar to valve lash.i found this odd there was no rod knock but, i guess stranger things have happened. please get back to me with the results
