I recently had the same problem w/ the speedo & mpg guages. I have a leak at the rear end and it finally messed up the signal. I removed the sensor, cleaned it w/ mineral spirits and air from my compressor. I also held a bowl of mineral spirits up to the connector on the car and soaked it. Then blew it clean with compressed air. I put it back together and it now works fine.

can anyone tell me where the tachometer/mpg connects to???
as it no longer works,
also i reset the lights and now 5 green lights come on with ignition but don`t go out after engine has started,
any ideas?
i have tried several instrument clusters and SI boards
but still no luck, i would like to try and trace the wiring
to see if there areany faults there, where does the tacho/mpg get the signal from???
