My wife has a 1985, 4door, 5-speed, black on black 325e with 90K original miles. We've had it since new. Put in a Dinan chip and swapped the rear diff out for something with better gearing about 4 years ago. It really wakes the car up and makes first gear more explosive. My wife wants to lower it and put some more agressive wheels and tires on it for better handling, so I'd be interested to hear what you think about 15's over 16's.

I also have a 750iL Dinan Twin Turbo and a 560sec, but ofter prefer the unique character (and better fuel mileage) of my wife's classic 325e. It's a cool car and can be made a lot quicker with a few cheap mods. No, you won't beat an "i", but an "i" won't beat an M/// and an M/// can't get to 60 in 4.3 like my V12 twin turbo. And none of those cars can scoot around an urban city and get almost 20mpg like an "eta". Enjoy yours.
