I finall got around to installing the MSDS headers in my '90 325is yesterday. They had been laying in my garage for more than two months. First problem: The bolt holes on the headers would not mate with the studs on my head. After a lot of judicious drilling and filing, they did mate up. By then, so much material had been removed from the headers that the stock copper nuts would fall through the holes so I had to go the the hardware store for bigger nuts/washsers. Got them bolted up and installed the collector pipes. To get them to mate with the stock exhaust I had to drop the front hanger and now they hang down so low they will drag on anything but level ground. The collectors are too low where they exit the underside of the car. Has anyone got experience with this? I got these from European Products, a Roundel advertiser. I plan to take the car to a muffler shop tomorrow to see what can be done.
