engine damage in front end accident (archive)

a friend has a 89 325 that he rear ended a truck. Hit up high but pushed the core support into the motor. Now wants to sell, what is the chance this motor & 5 speed tranny has no internal damage?. No oil visable on the outside, didn't bust the oil cooler at the lower front.
