I've studied Haynes and Bentley and decided I might take a shot at replacing the right control arm - bad outer ball joint.
My question/concern is that REMOVING the ball joints sounds doable, but is it as difficult to replace them??? Hammering out, or using a fork on the inside I can go at. But if they're as tough going back in, how the hell do you do it?
The usual " reverse of disassembly" doesn't adress the issue. Will I need to hammer the suckers in?
Also, should I expect self-locking nuts to come with the arm?
Or is this something to pick up, generic, at auto-parts store?
Can anyone help?
