Want to follow-up with a post from below. I recently replaced my water pump. Before the temp gauge would be at the 1/2 way mark or a little less. Since I have had it replaced the engine temp runs at 1/4. Is this ok or better than running at 1/2 or could it cause damage? If this is a problem is it the thermostat that needs replaced and how much does that cost (parts and labor).

sound like your thermostat is in the stuck
open position. the cost of the thermostat is not that expensive if i remember correctly it's
arround $14.00,now i dont know how much dealer
or a repair shop charge for replacement.figure
$60.00/hour about 2hours. If I were you i will
invest some money in getting a bentley manual
about $35.00 and do it your self it is really not that hard to replace. now depending on where you
are located at there are two temperature range
that the thermostat is available 71degree and 80
