I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but, here is my 90ix with H&R springs. The ride is still good, they bring the fender down to the tire perfectly, and handling is noticeably improved. They are less than $250 at TMS and require no modification(took me just a few hours). Just another option to think about.

Do M3 springs lower an iX at all? If so, how much and is the difference noticable? Is it worth the modification? Thanx for your time.

The drop looks like an 1" to 1 1/2". Is this correct? Also, is that with stock shocks or did you replace them too? All your information is greatly appreciated. And by the way, that is a nice looking iX.
