It's been my experience that the S-shaped allen is provided for manually operating sun roofs. Your conv obviously doesn't have one, so my guess is it operates the window mechanism via whatever is behind the plugs on your doors. Might be worth popping one out. My '87 conv has no plugs on the door panels so I have no way to directly corroborate my theory. And of course what about the rear windows?
Hope this helps, James
Hi, I've got a '90 325ic (Calypso Red) 5-speed. I put ellipsoids in . . . 1. What can I do to cause outboard lights to stay on when on Hi Beam? (Ellipsoids are monofilament bulbs, sealed beams are bi-filamental)
2. Is there something behind those plugs on the door panel that would enable one to wind up the window manually? (should the electric winder ever fail)
3. What is the "S" shaped allen wrench for?
TIA,
Mike
