Larry,

I plan to visit a local independent tomorrow. I know a little about M10 and M30 engines but almost nothing about the M20. The local independent deals with many E30s and will evaluate a car for one hour's labor ($55).

Alex

Alex,

Have to plead ignorance as my mechanical knowledge is limited. I do know the M20 and M30 are very different engines but the actual differences as concerns the valve train is beyond my knowledge. Maybe someone here can help with the more technical side. It does sound like you have a pretty good mechanical grasp yourself and perhaps a simple trip to a qualified E30 mechanic is all you need. Good luck

Larry
