Personally, I think it looks great on YOUR car. The red brings out the chrome kidney beans and makes the headlights seem like they're chromed...looks good with the older black-trimmed aluminum bumpers. The red grill compliments the car...it's not too much red, but rather just enough black. You get what I mean? It would be too much if your bumpers were red, along with the door handles, b-pillars, and any other trim. It balaces the colors out. To me, '84-'88 e30s (especially red or orange) have too much stuff painted black. Some people with the white cars go all-out-euro and paint everything...all the trim, the grill, bumpers and fillers, mirrors, etc.,etc....even the headlight trim-rings get painted. That (to me) looks dopey on any e30, even the later cars. And, yes, I have seen a few red e30s done this way. On the other hand, darker colored e30s look good if everything is one color, like DARK blue or black. My '84 black 318i was all shiney black...every piece of it's exterior. White and silver cars look best with all of the black trim left as is, save for maybe the door handels or bumper fillers on earlier cars (just the filler, not the alum. bumper or the center strip). Your car is well balanced with the red grill, mirrors, and (I guess) an "s" spoiler. Leave the rest black. I'm sorry for writing this much about a simple question such as "Need to know what you guys think," but I guess I look at things more in depth these days. Or maybe I thought it might change some of those guys' minds that don't like it.

BTW- DON'T paint the center grill black, that really looks goofy!!!
