Crazy but you might need to look under the steering wheel behind the kick panel-- there is a green circuit board that has two green plugs with 4 wires apiece connected to it. This circuit board is on the left side right behind the knob for the headlights! One of the two relays is the Horn and this horn relay is uncovered and usually has a tiny spring that holds it open (not powered). if this board is not in its proper spot (hanging) or the spring is broken bumps in the road, door slams, gremlins will make your horn honk...This sounds like a loose wire. check by lightly shaking wires and CAUTION: don't have the keys in when you do this... this same board has power on it when the keys are in... Hope this helps...
John 1987 325i325i conv. - horn honks for no apparent reason at no consistent time, just when it feels like it. Sometimes just opening the door will do it. Any probable reasons? Thanks.
That's very odd, I'm not sure what would make that happen. Maybe your car is trying to talk to you:)
