What kind of stereo would my old '90 325ic have had? I loved it, and want to make sure a new (used) one has the same system. I believe it was the stock stereo. I can't bring myself to look at another body style. The E30, to me, just says "BMW". Thanks.
The 89-93 E30 Premium Sound package's radio was
the Alpine "Pyramid" radio with the infrared
finger slider thingy for setting the
Bass/Treble/Balance/Fader, and the pyramid-
shaped FF/Rewind/Search toggle switch. I think
this system sounds pretty good for a 12 year old
one. I like mine enough to leave it alone. The
88 cars with the Premium sound had all the same
speakers and amp, but the radio was a slighly
lesser model with separate bass and treble
sliders, and a remote dash mounted fader
thumbwheel. I have one of each and swapped
them back and forth one day - and the Pyramid
radio sounds richer than the lesser 88 radio.Randy
