i have a 89 325ic and my car also runs hot in stand still traffic i checked for leaks found nothing so i toke it in to the shop and had it looked at the guy told me its me radiator do to the fact that its probably dirty in side. i dont beleave thats so cause my car runs cool when im not in traffic.i think that the secondary fun is not turning on when the car gets hot i'm going to change the sensor first to see if it helps. he also said that that secondary fun (auxilary fun)only go's on when i turn on the a.c. i think thats bull shit that fun should also come on when the car reaches a certain temp.i'll post a fallow up when i change my sensor .
I'm running out of options with my 325ic. The last thing I haven't checked is the temp sensor. Does anyone have experience with these? Do they go bad? If not that then it must be more serious like a faulty head gasket or (gulp!) a cracked head. )o: It just seems to me that if it were the head or the gasket, the temp would continue to rise until it boiled over. Is this correct? All help greatly appreciated.

James
