Hi
I'm 16, and my dad just gave me his 1989 325i (he got a 530i) and this Brake Lining light is always on! The dealer doesn't know what's wrong, as he checked the brakes and said they were fine. Has anyone had this problem on older models?
Thanks
-tombo

Best guess is the sensor is bad; you can replace for about $6.00; easy to install if you or you Dad has ever replaced pads on disk brakes. If that doesn't fix it; you may have a short in the circuit. Nice car for a 16 year old....Drive with care!!!

If the pads and sensors are ok, motherboard shorts are very common, but it is not worth the effort/labor to replace same as you have to remove the entire... well, you get the picture. Annoying yes, but not a real problem. Mike ('90325is)
