Hi all, I have an 88 325is that has begun hesitating badly, and I am thinking that it may be the AFM. What is does is the engine will almost stall if the gas pedal is tapped. It reacts the same as if the accelerator pump on a carb equipped car is bad. If I slowly apply the gas, it runs fine, but when accelerating hard, it stumbles. The car has 176K on it and still has the original AFM. What do you folks think? Sound like the AFM is getting old? If so, what is the possibility that I could tweak the spring in there, or is this a different problem than the weak spring problem.

Thanks in advance for any help or ideas given.

Tim
