So far all I know that is different are the motor mounts. Head, intake, exaust, and TB are the same.

the 88 model year was teh super eta. it was different from the regular etas. it had a 325i head w an eta cam and special pistons to work with the 325e bottom and 325i top. made lower compression than the reg eta. you can use an older eta head just make sure you change the pistons i guess. also i think the rev limit was slightly higher in 88?..could be wrong about that one. regular etas rev up to 4700 rpm. this was the best engine for the e/i hybrid!
