Found this on E30.de. This guy converted to M3 brakes and 5-lug wheels.
Parts needed:
Front:
2x M3 struts, complete with backing plates and calipers
2x M3 eccentric control arm bushes
2x wheelbearings with 5-lug hubs
Rear:
2x M3 backing plates
2x calipers
2x wheelbearings with 5-lug hubs
Everything else fits.
According to this guy you should mount the eccentric bushings the oposite of normal to make the front wheel center in the wheelarches.
The axle width (between hubs) increases with 7mm in front and 9mm in rear, so to keep the same position of the wheel, you should use wheels with this much more offset.
DISCLAIMER: Don't blame me if this doesn't work, I haven't done this myself, I only relay some info I found on the web...
