I think that taking out a cat is a bunch of crap, if its old replace it b/c i care about future generations too...

i think its pretty irresponsible to cut out the cat just to gain a few jollies out of your machine, so is not keeping it tuned and a lot of other things. The hard part is knowing that everything is connected and your actions will affect everyone, some people not yet born. I think everybody has a responsiblity to protect the place we live and make it better. Unfortuantely the choices get real complex there are a million trade offs, and we live in a society that makes money and things paramount to all else.
