I've heard German cars run forever, I've also heard they are plagued with electrical and fuel problems.

What should i watch out for to keep my reasonably well-maintained 133,000 mile 87 325is running for several years? Can i hope for more than 200k miles? I've had it since january, and the only major thing that went wrong is the clutch master cylinder.

thanks,
jonathon

Change the timing belt every 60K miles or four years whichever comes frist. Flush the cooling system every two years and replace with PO4-free coolant and distilled water, Purge the brake fluid with good DOT 4 stuff every year and drive the car. They don't tolerate sitting for long periods. Don't be afraid of sustained high RPM (3500-5000) as the car breathes better at high RPM and it helps to clear the crud out of the motor.
