I was searching the archives, and I came across completely opposite opinions - "I've used them and they're OK" and "NO, absolutely not!"

So, which is it? The local Pep Boys did not have Bosch Silver plugs, which everyone seems to accept.

I used plat +4s in my car, soon after I purchased it. The car suddenly started to accelerate better than before. Good sparks, I thought?? After 8 months, and reading similiar material to what you read, I switched to copper plugs. Well turns out, there isn't much difference in performance. It's just that the original sparks in my car were in bad shape.

The reason people tell you not to use the +4s is that they foul easily in our engines. They run much hotter in these engines than they should.

You can certainly try them if you wish, but you end up losing a lot more money for almost no noticeable difference. Some people might tell you that they had the worst time with the +4s and their engines blew up or whatever. Others will tell you their car is so much better that they just beat a 911 turbo in a drag!

The recommended plugs are Bosch copper, although they are getting harder to find these days.

Finally, the cost alone doesn't justify using platinum sparks in our cars. So stick with coppper, if for no reason other than to save a little money.

Hope this helps,

Omer.
