I have carbon build-up on my spark plugs, and in changing my air filter, I noticed some nasty stuff in the air intake valve. Checking the thottle housing, there was more of the icky stuff.
I am new to auto repair, and the handy Bentley book does not mention how to solve the carbon problem...or how to tell if my injectors are clogged as well.
I am having warm slow acceleration problems, and I am sure this is a source!!!
Any advice??

the only way to remove carbon build up
is to nut shell blast it only dealer has
the right equipment. that problem was
very common during the hay days of e-30
Bmw claim gas was causing the build up.
if you want to do this your self you
have to remove the intake manifold to
access it clean it as much as you can
and start using addetive on your gas
thectroline sold by chevron is a good
chemical addetive. I think most gasoline
that you can buy now has some type of
addetive for this purpose.
