Unless you want a cabrio, the car you're looking for is known as the E36. You should try to post on the E36 forum to get "expert" help. Just to get you started though; look for the six cylinder 325i (4 door) or the 325is (2 door, sport). I have heard of some common problems with the E36s rear subframe but you are better off asking someone on the E36 forum.
