On my last run of yesterday's autocross, my power-steering pulley cut through the lower radiator hose of my '87 325is. Arrgh! I believe that this is a result of the engine shifting in its mounts, shoving the pulley over during hard cornering.
I've heard that you can prevent this problem by replacing the engine mounts with stiffer ones from a 5-series model. Has anyone tried this? How hard is it to replace motor mounts? Thanks for your help. -steve '87 325is Delphin
