You can try to wedge a screwdriver between two bolt heads on the water pump pulley--That's what the BMW special tool is designed to do, essentially. Douse the nut/threads with pentrating fluid and tap on it, to help, if you haven't already...
Guys-
I am trying to remove the fan to replace my dist/rotor on my 86 325e and I can't get that 32mm fan clutch nut loose. I know it is left threaded (loosen clockwise from the car front), but I can't get it to loosen, no matter how hard I hit the 32mm wrench. I am even using a piece of wood against the wrench and hitting it with a hammer - to no avail.
Can anyone help me? Is there any way to keep the water pump still while trying to loosen the nut?
TIA-
MATT
