I heard it actually can be pretty easy, anyone know the best way?


When shipping wheels with tires mounted I've found it best just to cut up some very thick cardboard into circles the same size as the rims. Tape these cardboard circles onto each side of the wheel using the fiberglas reinforced shipping tape. Tape completely around the tire in a star pattern. Tape each wheel individually or your UPS man will hate you. Never had a wheel damaged yet.
