Yaofeng, I'm not throwing away the output flange. Only the steel and rubber part that fits around it and the flexible disc. I think it's a great example of a poor design. It is serving no useful purpose that I can determine. If anyone can figure out what this thing does, please let me know.

You guys are out of your mind. Do you mean to throw away the steel flange with rubber on the outside which cover the guibo? The hole in the flange has serrations which slip onto the tranny output shaft. Without the flange you BMW is a sitting duck.
