E31 owner trying to advise co-worker on purchase. 48k, seller asking $12,900. Any known problems w/this model (92 325 Convertible). E36 board says that 92 convertibles are E30 and that interiors are shoddy....thanks for your help.

I've owned several 92 E30 convertibles, they have the same problems as the rest of the E30 group. The major difference being that many of the 92 cabrios came with an electric top. Poor design coupled with weak drive motors makes this a constant problem. Expensive to fix, especially repeatedly.
Interior shoddy?? Not at all, unless the previous owner abused it. Obviously interior wise there is no comparison to any E31, but it's the nice sports seat leather interior.
BTW...the price seems about right if it's in excellent condition.
