guibo seal? at 171,700 miles the guibo (not a seal) probably has cracks in it. It's only made out of rubber. The part is only $40 and should take between 1 and 2 hours to replace. $450 is way high for just that.

I have a 1988 325is with 171,700 miles on the clock. The car is in great shape in and out, but I was recently told by a BMW mechanic that my guibo seal is badly cracked. He told me is not dire, but I should replace it soon. Has anyone else dealt with this? He quoted about $450. Any help would be great!
