alright. it came on when going up a steep hill... the dipstick when I immediatley stopped read almost a quart low, but that was just after running the engine, so there was more oil in the engine than what read on the stick. I added a quart and all seems fine. I'm going to check my clutch for the curise shutoff switch... maybe my cruise didn't shut off when I pulled it out of gear for it to redline...

my 323 comes on at 1/2 quart under full. it is probably where your sensor is set. no adjustment. if the level is ok check it for a few weeks and it should be ok. you may have been on a hill when you started. those side streets in ashville are good at doing it the crown on the road tilts all the oil to the pass side and the sensor is on the drivers also the gas tank will do the same if you ever run out of gas going up hill you may have gas going downhill.

what causes the overhead oil light to come on? it came on for me tonite driving home, I stopped and checked oil... it was ok... proceded home and shut car off... turned it back on and the light was out.

Any ideas?

Thanks
