Before you discharge the Diethylfloromethane into the system- you may have leaks, which is why you need a charge. Because, in a perfect world- one would never need to replace freon. Its a gas that recirculates infinitely, cooling the air that passes through the condenser. Other problems may ionclude a frozen/stuck resistor, in the compressor. Try turning on the A/C, once you can recharge the refrigerant. The compressor should switch-on, making a slight hissing sound.
