i was just in the same situation as you. i just bought a 91 318is a few months ago and asked this same question about the bentley manual. i bought a bentley manual for it anyways. even though it only says the e30 book goes up to 90 nothing really changed in 91 so your still fine. all the chassis, electrical, suspension, etc is covered in the book. while they dont specifically talk about the 318is just look at the 90 325i(s) because it is real similar. the only thing bad is the bentley does not cover the M42 (1.8L engine) which the 318is has. for that you need the e36 book.mike

I just puchased a really clean 91 318is. I'm very happy witht the performance. In addition to the profile gasket, the original owner had the differential replaced (noise) early on and the radiator replaced. (last post)
I have had good results only with the Bentley service shop manuals for imported cars. But I see only a manual for upto 1990 E30 318i and another manual for new body 92 onward. Which manual covers my car? I am guessing that this model is the E30 body with the later series' engine.
Please advise.
