I just want to make sure there isn't anything I'm missing. What exactly is involved in installing premium tweeters in an e30 that didn't come with them. Do I just hook up the tweeter wires into the other front speaker wires? Or is there somewhere else to plug them so that they actually act just as tweeters (so the stereo knows that there are tweeters in the system). I dont know much about car audio. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't need to do anything other than just connect the tweeters to the correct terminals. I just reconnected my tweeters today and used all new wiring. I have heard that all cars, premium sound or otherwise, still have the wiring for the tweeters. Just pry the little plastic shells where the tweeters attach, you will be able to see the wires. Now just connect the wires to the correct terminals on the tweeters and put the tweeter with the plastic shell back in it's place.

The tweeter wires are connected to the front speakers in the kick panel. If you don't get any sound after testing, the tweeter wires might be disconnected from the speakers. However, this is highly unlikely.

Best of luck,

Omer.
