I need new shocks for my '85 325E and I just want to know would coil overs or just regular struts and spring be the best way to go since I want to lower it slightly. And where can you get a set of coil over for my car. All websites I go to a set of coil overs are over a $1000 dollars. Are they just that expensive for a BMW.

then go with the traditional shocks and springs. Yes coilovers are very expensive cause they are adjustable. You can use coilovers for many different things. You can fine tune them for track use. You can use them on shows or street. With these, you control the height of you car. With regular springs and shocks, you cant do this. For this reason, i will be purchasing coilovers for my iX. Up here in NJ, it snows. So when the winter comes and it snows, i could raise my car and when spring, summer and fall come, i could drop her right back real low. Hope this helps.
