I just cracked my oilpan the other day going over a fricken bump. It is badly cracked.....unable to be patched. i want to change it myself (do it yourself newbee). Heres the problem. i have the bolts off on the pan except fo the ones under the flywheel cover. on the flywheel cover, there were four bolts that are taken off as well. I understand that the cover has to come off before taking the oilpan off. there are, maybe 4-5 bolts (wierd looking ones)that, i believe, hold the cover in place as well... those are hard to take off.........do i need a special tool? i have a Chiltons book that isnt much help......any suggestions.

Thanks in advance

You need a 10mm and i think 8mm star sockets to remove the star bolts in the flywheel side. Just in case you need an oil pan, i have one for sale. Email me if you're interested.
