Tim,
The task of removing the tie rods isnt a difficult task,i did mine 2 months ago with no special tools.Just make sure u have a PIPE WRENCH handy b/c this what is used to remove the rod from the steering rack,otherwise good luck.
Once the washer is off and u get it out of the rack,the rest is straight forward.

As for the quality of the part,i say that they as long as its made in Germany - either genuine or after market - you shouldnt have a worry.
