The term "big six" is generally used to mean the cars with different variations of the M30 family of engines. This includes Bavaria, 3.0cs, 5 series, 6 series and 7 series with anywhere from 2.8l to 3.5l engines. (except the 528e, that's an M20- "baby six"). The mounts you want are BMW Part #11 81 1 132 322. BAS Catalog shows that they are for "Bavaria, 3.0s/si/cs, 5,6 series thru 82, 7 series thru 79". Stock part number for E30 6 cyl cars is 11 81 1 132 323.
Another thing to check is to make sure the aluminum bracket with rubber bumper tip is still attached to the underside of the transmission bellhousing. The rubber tip of this piece bumps up against the front subframe and limits the forward movement of the engine/transmission assembly under braking. If this piece is missing, the engine/tranny can shift far enough forward to allow the fan to hit the radiator!! This is BAD!
You can also use a slightly shorter than stock PS belt to help keep some distance between the PS pulley and the lower Rad hose.
I always carry a spare lower hose and a pair of the "better" motor mounts.
Good Luck,

Are you sure they are the same? Isn't the "big 6" the M6 and 535i engines? Are these the same motor mounts as the 528i?
Did you get the Korman ones?
Order the Korman "High performance hard rubber E30 Motor mounts" (or whatever they call them) and they'll send you the "big six" BMW motor mounts....... I installed mine about 3 years ago and they've withstood about 40 track days with no signs of breaking.

I searched the archives and came up with several alternative options for E30 motor mounts for a hard-driven 1986 325 track car:
1. TMS aluminum reinforcement cups
2. Korman upgrade
3. E12 528i mounts
Anyone have any recommendations? I haven't cut the lower rad hose yet but seem to be getting closer to it....
TIA-
