: What is the test for intake gaskets? I remember something about spraying carb cleaner and the idle changes. Is that right? Should it go up? Obviously if the gaskets are bad that is.
: My idle at a stoplight is usually about 700-800, but every once in a while it will be around 1000, I tap the gas, and it drops down to normal again. Is this a sign of intake gaskets, or something else?
: Thanks

My 02 cents: could it be something as simple as your gas pedal be sticking a little, just behind the pedal? My pedal started squeaking and about the same time I noticed the same rpms you described. I just lubed mine, so I don't know if it helped, but the pedal feels better. My '02 pedal would stick, and it was a matter of keeping the linkage greased.
