Why an E36 engine? It will throw off the balance of the car so it won't handle as well. Plus if you really want to go for big power you can get just as much out of the S14 as the E36 M3 motor. Active Autowerk had an E30 M3 w/ the S14 making 1100 HP. I think that is enough. My car has a Dinan stroker motor putting out 292 HP and 267 ft/lbs of torque, the engine is not peaky at all. There is plenty of room for more HP with this motor too. I drive an E36 M3 fairly regularly as well, and although its nice, it doesn't quite have the race bread performance of the E30. Enough of my ranting, I'd stick w/ the S14.

: I am looking for a car to turn into a race / Street car. I am planning to install an E36 M3 engine so the engien is not to important. Car must have a good frame and pannels.

: Thanks
