You guys are wrong about putting a E36 M3 engine in a E30. I take it you have never ridden in one. One of my freinds does these conversion on the side and let me tell you, his E30 M3 will make my supercharged E36 M3 look like a turtle. The weight balance is about the same with the new motor beleive it or not. This is one of the fastest cars that I have ridden in on the track. Now I know that you guys are saying that you can get the same amount of power out of your S14 motor but you just don't get the torque of the 6-cylinder. And yes this does make a difference on the track. Plus the power is so smooth and seems like it is always on. By this I mean that his car always stays right in the powerband. It never falls out of it. Now if you ever come to Road Atlanta for one of the Peachtree Chapters driving schools, look up Juston Poole and ask to see his car and go for a ride. Trust me you will come back with a smile on your face and be begging for him to do a transplant in your E-30.

M3Power

: : Well unless I spelled autowerk wrong its not a misprint. The engine is capable of it in turbo chaged form. BMW had a varient of the engine making 1300 hp. Turbos are a wonderufl thing.

: : Brian

: That was the Formula 1 engine that BMW used in the early 80's. Nelson Piquet won the championship with that engine.

: And I agree, stuffing an E36 motor in an E30 M3 just dilutes its motorsport breed. You're going to have to modify the suspension to compensate for the weight of the motor or else you're going to have an understeering monster in your hands. That compared to a well balanced car that it already is.
