Anything above a 2.5 is crazy, and this has been established over time. Dinan used to offer a 2.7 but the reliability record was awful. The problem is that the increased stroke leads to excessive piston speed. The result is that the motor literally beats itself up due to the strain on con rods, rings, pistons, etc. Trust me, stick with a well built 2.5 and you will be more then happy. Ask Will Turner, Ron Checca or Kermit Upton and they will reaffirm this. Otherwise, ask BMW! Clearly, they built a 2.5 for a reason (Evo III)...
: Just curious, what are they running for bore and stroke?Stan Anyone heard of the 2.8's somebody is building - Fahey?
